JLT guide to Remuneration (Salary/Bonus) Sacrifice


20th September 2011, London:  Following the increase in NIC rates from April this year, the potential savings from this arrangement, whereby an employee gives up pay in exchange for an employer pension contribution, is now greater than ever. 

Further, with compulsory pension provision on the horizon, remuneration sacrifice is a very effective way to mitigate the costs of having to auto-enrol nearly all employees into a workplace pension and contribute for them.  

Implementation can be straightforward, but there are some ‘pitfalls' for the unwary and expert advice should always be sought.
