Sam Ladbury

Sam studied a BA Joint Honours in Russian and History and an MA in International Relations before he joined our Financial Risks division in 2008, he had previously worked in Parliament whilst studying and speaks Russian.

"JLT is a great place to work largely because of the people, who are all very good fun, but also because of the level of responsibility that is given to you from an early stage. I work in the Financial Risks division as a Business Development Analyst and Researcher and have recently been working in the new business team. The business is incredibly diverse and deals with multinational companies who have operations around the world. Understanding clients' requirements and tailoring our services to them is a key part of my role. We are currently expanding in Russia and I have been able to get involved in some projects where I can use my Russian. I hope to become more involved in this region in the future.

One of the things that first appealed to me about the Group was the breadth of the company and the opportunity to work with specialists across so many different business areas. JLT has a established network for meeting new people and building relationships across the business, I have played in a JLT five a side football tournament, am a member of the film and theatre group, and am looking forward to playing in the Lloyds rugby Sevens this year.

It is still early days in my career but I've learnt enough from my role and the support of the Graduate Development Programme to know that I'm excited about what lies in store for the future!"
